Questions We Are Asked Most

Is my donation eligible for tax exemption?

Yes. Donations to Kiran Foundation are eligible for exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. Tick the box on the donation enquiry form and we will send the receipt with your acknowledgement.

Can I choose which mission my donation supports?

You can. The enquiry form lets you name a programme: dialysis, Gau Seva, women and elderly care, education, food or winter relief. If you leave it undirected we put it wherever the need is sharpest that month, which is usually a treatment somebody is about to stop.

How do I know the money reaches the family?

Wherever the need is a dialysis session, medicines or a test, we pay the hospital, the dialysis centre or the chemist directly rather than handing over cash. It removes an awkward conversation for the family and it removes any doubt about where the money went.

Do you take one-time donations, or only monthly?

Both, and one-time gifts are genuinely welcome. We do say plainly that the problems we fund are recurring ones, so a standing monthly commitment goes further than the same amount given once.

I want to volunteer. What would I actually be doing?

Most often: helping at a health camp, packing and delivering ration kits, visiting elderly people who live alone, or mentoring a child through a school year. Tell us roughly how much time you have and where you are, and we will suggest something that fits.

I know a family who needs help. How do I refer them?

Write to us with the situation and a way to reach them. We visit before we commit to anything, and we look at what is actually needed rather than what was asked for.

Are you open to corporate or CSR partnerships?

Yes. We are a young organisation and we would rather begin with one clearly defined programme than a broad agreement. Choose the option on the form and tell us what you have in mind.

Would you rather just talk?

Call the office during working hours and ask for whoever is in. We are small enough that this works.
